Taste the Real Santorini with Assyrtiko Wine

Assyrtiko, say what?

You know when you go on vacation and you just want to bottle that feeling and take it with you forever? I present to you Estate Argyros Assyrtiko fermented in French Oak from Santorini, Greece. This wine tastes like the Santorini sun feels, sharp and citrusy with high minerality. I recommend the Assyrtiko aged in oak over the steel because it take a bit of the bite out of it and for me, makes it a bit more palatable.

Founded in 1903 this family owned winery keeps with the long standing wine traditions of the island. Because of the lack of organic materials in the soil, the average age of the vines here are over 150 years old, with some over 3 centuries old!!

I had the great fortune of doing a tasting here this summer and this wine in particular was full of flavors I had never experienced! It’s not for the weak of heart, but if you like a bold white, this is for you.

Best part about it, Estate Argyros practices, sustainable viticulture, using composted grape must as fertilizer, and plowing the vineyards with mules. And you know what’s even better? You don’t even need to go to the islands to taste it.(although I recommend going now!!!)
