I have been lucky to taste Joanie and Leigh’s Cakes a few times in my life and every time is a treat.  From a wedding cake to a gender reveal, to the sweetest “Oh the Places You’ll Go” creation designed for a best friend’s baby shower…these are some of the most beautiful and best-tasting cakes I have ever tried.

This sweet cake helped to set the theme for the baby shower…the inside was blue 🙂

Joanie and Leigh are known for their original wedding cake designs, over the top artwork and one-of-a-kind desserts.  They can do anything from organic and vegan to the iconic “EAT ME” cake in the Tim Burton film, “Alice in Wonderland”!

The Bride and Groom had the best time tasing their cake at Shutters on the Beach. It was so delicious, the groom dropped a piece!

I had the idea of reaching out to Joanie and Leigh when I was offered the chance to curate an eco-friendly styled wedding shoot and VIP event for Hilton Hotels.  Who knew that I would end up working with some of the nicest, most professional people in the biz? Our event was scheduled during the height of summer wedding season, yet Joanie graciously accepted my request to create an Organic, Farm to Table Wedding Cake to promote our eco-conscious event.  Not only did they create a beautiful cake, but they donated it to the Hilton as a gift for the guests. These ladies are amazing!

This farm to table wedding cake had layers of organic berries from the local farmer’s market.  It was absolutely delicious!

The day of the event was a blistering 110 degrees, so we had to move most of the shoot inside.  Joanie and Leigh had one of their trusted team members drive the cake all the way to the Hilton Woodland Hills in that heat.  When he arrived, I could not believe how elegant this cake turned out to be.  It was simple, clean and gave us the opportunity to add sustainably grown local flowers to it.  What was even better was how amazing the cake tasted!  Layered with organic berries and cream, it was the perfect dessert to celebrate the event.
