25 Feb Why everyone on Kauai should try Waves Yoga
“To Be Calm is the Highest Achievement of Self” . That is one of the first things you read when you go onto the Waves Yoga Website. Something about that quote made me want to dive in and learn more.
I had been working on Kauai for almost two months before I discovered Waves Yoga. I only wish that I had found it sooner. I had yet to find a yoga class on Kauai that I truly loved and then I read about the founder, Lulu and decided that I had to take her class immediately. Check out the Yelp reviews. Everyone is in LOVE with Waves and Lulu. That weekend, I drove up to Princeville from Poipu to see what all of the fuss is about.
The studio is on the smaller side but cheerful and clean, with a little boutique that sells a variety of supplements, clothing and props. The woman who checked me in was polite and friendly and everyone was very excited to begin class. I now know why. Lulu started class with infectious energy, the most amazing personality and a kick ass body that makes you want to take from her every day. She is quick to laugh and make jokes yet spiritual in every way. The winds were howling so she opened the door and discussed connecting our breath to the winds. Waves classes focus on “Breath and Body Awareness”. I felt this throughout the entire class.
I loved the vibe of this studio. I loved the mix of music…from hip hop to African beats to a little reggae and Jack Johnson to round out the class. The classes will work you both physically and spiritually and you will leave feeling the Aloha Spirit. I even love that they have a Clearlight Full Spectrum Infared Sauna that is Electromagnetic Radiation Free. This type of sauna allows one to absorb all of the healing properties without taking in harmful radiation.
