21 Feb Recover Faster with This Quick, Natural Electrolyte Sports Drink Recipe
Feel better, faster with a clean, natural electrolyte sports drink recipe perfect for post-workout or anytime you need a pick-me-up. Sports recovery drinks are everywhere, with big-name brands like Gatorade and Nuun offering a wide variety of flavors and on-the-go options. Still, as convenient as these pre-made versions might be, they’re formulated for mass marketing. Chemical dyes make them more appealing to the eye, while synthetic flavors improve taste.
Instead, try this extremely simple, make-at-home version. Most of the ingredients are basic pantry staples. Plus, you’ll enjoy peace of mind knowing exactly what’s in your natural electrolyte sports drink!
- 1 Quart Herbal tea, coconut water, or plain water
- 1/8 to 1/4 Tsp Himalayan salt
- 1 Tsp Calcium magnesium powder (like this one from Natural Vitality)
- 1/4 Cup 100% fruit juice (optional)
- 1-2 Tbsp Sweetener such as honey or stevia (optional)
Simply brew the tea or heat the water. Then, mix in sea salt and calcium magnesium powder. Last, add in the juice or sweetener and mix or shake to combine. Drink immediately or keep up to 4 days in refrigerator.
